Active Microbial Ingredients
Formula 500X is a bacterial formula used for livestock consisting of a group of both gram-positive and gram-negative microbes that have been primarily isolated from soil environments. They can survive in aerobic and anaerobic environments commonly found in manure pits and in animal stalls.
Some of these microbes demonstrate antagonistic activity against potentially pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli. Others are capable of biochemically breaking down the complex organic molecules found in manures and bedding into simpler, more readily available substances. This metabolic process reduces the overall volume of solids while making the solids more readily available to plants once land applied.
Some of these microbes play key roles in the cycling of nutrients which reduces the strong ammonia odors commonly found in livestock barns. Other odor sources such as biofouling caused by biofilm-forming microbes can be prevented through bacterial competition with our microbial product.
The array of microbes each have beneficial components that when combined create a very robust solution to most of the common issues found in livestock waste handling.
Formula 500X is a multi-strain microbial formula designed to reduce odor, accelerate composting, and suppress harmful pathogens in livestock barn bedding and manure pits.
Active Microbial Ingredients
- Lacticaseibacillus spp. Produces lactic acid to suppress pathogens, reduce ammonia, and support microbial balance.
- Bacillus subtilis Breaks down organic matter and produces antimicrobial compounds.
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae Balances microbial populations and supports fermentation.
- Gluconacetobacter spp. Produces acetic acid and contributes to pH regulation and pathogen suppression.
- Enterobacteriaceae spp. Some strains assist in organic matter decomposition and nutrient cycling (non-pathogenic strains only).
- Flavobacterium spp. Degrades complex organic compounds and supports carbon cycling.
- Achromobacter spp. Breaks down environmental pollutants and contributes to odor reduction.
- Acinetobacter spp. Involved in nitrogen and phosphorus cycling; supports organic waste degradation.
- Comamonas spp. Degrades aromatic compounds and enhances composting efficiency.
- Stenotrophomonas spp. Produces enzymes that aid in organic matter breakdown and biofilm disruption.
- Sphingobacterium spp. Contributes to the degradation of polysaccharides and supports microbial diversity.
