Transition Time
August is a month of transition and change. The season slightly shifts to shorter days and soon, cooler nights. It is a busy and exciting time with back to school and Midwest show families juggling state fair. Good luck to everyone exhibiting their animals this month!
Thank you to all our new customers experiencing a fresher barn, cooler, pen, stalls or coop this summer!! I am excited to report, we have many repeat customers. This product works and when the opportunity arose we decided to purse it. More about our story later on. . .
Many have asked about a gallon size option. Same product, different size, Formula 500X by the gallon. Gallon jugs will be available very soon. Stay tuned
Lastly, we really appreciate all your support and interest! It’s been fun visiting with folks over the summer. Looking forward to serving you even better this fall.
More about our story . . .
A very good friend of ours is involved in the development of this product, Formula 500X. Last year we were one of the clients involved in research and development. We sprayed our pastures and fields with this product and saw amazing results. Formula 500X is non-toxic. It is a product of naturally occurring microbes from the soil. This product consumes the salts, proteins and other martial found in animal waste.
Our pastures and hay fields were sprayed in the spring with our cattle in a few of the pastures. The hay fields had heavy manure spread over them. We didn’t push any manure with the cutter bar on the hay mower. We had a good hay yield.
A piece of one of our bean fields was also sprayed. It yielded about 5-7 more bushels an acre than the rest of the field. All our fields were more mellow as the product speeds the breakdown of organic matter.
One of our closest show fields used Formula 500X the summer of 2024 in both of their coolers for their string of show cattle. Odor and ammonia were greatly decreased in the coolers. One being a pit style design that was around 20 years old. The hair on their cattle was as impeccable as usual. They continue to use Formula 500X in their coolers this summer as well.
As for our show cattle, our kids have just about wound down their show careers. To be fully transparent, we did not use our cooler this year. However, we do have a couple of heifers running in our show barn under fans. A typical day, they both stand in one pen making a mess. We are spraying Formal 500X about every 5 days in the pens. There is hardly any odor, no ammonia and we are noticing less flies. There are flies around the cattle of course but fewer in the barn than in prior years. And it has been a very humid, we summer here in mid-Missouri.
A couple of other noticeable advantages. Spraying our cattle barns helps break down the manure and we notice less odor. We’ve only sprayed them a couple of times this year.
Last fall we had too many cows in a 16 acre pasture feeding hay while we were setting up cows to AI, IVF and flush. Walking one of the fields checking heats I noticed there was hardly any manure out in the pasture. It was much cleaner than prior years. We have not used a harrow the last two years.
Customers with chicken coops are having great success eliminating the ammonia and odor in their coops and runs and one even says he has less poop to scoop! Another customer with several dogs and a small fenced yard in town, is spraying his entire yard. He reports hardly any poop when he mows his yard!
This spring we were given the opportunity to market Formula 500X and we decided to run with it. We know first hand the product works, because we use it. Every farm is different, every cooler set up is different, every barn different. If you have questions, please call and let us share how Formula 500X can work for you too.
Thanks again for your interest and support!
